ACCOUNTING AND AUDITING STANDARDS COMMITTEE

This committee is responsible for investigation of general complaints about CPAs, other than tax return preparation. Composed entirely of CPAs, the committee coordinates and directs investigators, who are also CPAs, in reviewing materials and information that is necessary to resolve competence and moral issues, as well as misunderstandings between CPAs and their clients. The committee's work is initiated through complaints brought by clients, government agencies, other CPAs and various sources. The committee reviews between 75 and 100 cases each year and makes disciplinary recommendations to the Arizona State Board of Accountancy.
